I hardly need to tell you how to do this….

Chip some turnips

  • Boil them for a few minutes, until a sharp knife pricks them
  • Get a non stick pan hot, with a gloop of olive oil and some salt
  • Chuck the chips in…
  • Let them go golden
  • Guess what happens then?
  • Stick some cheddar on them
  • Eat them.

Weekend Snack Recipe – Low Carb Baked Cheese Crisps from Low Carb Voice

Published on September 22, 2012,

Many people following a low carb diet will still get the munchies for nice crispy, crunchie snacks – especially at the weekend. Sure, there are vegetables you can use with dips but here’s a great simple idea for baked cheese crisps from Low Carb Voice. This version uses Cheddar cheese but any firm cheese should work…

Here’s how you make it. Use shredded cheese or cheddar cheese slices. Line a baking sheet with parchment

paper. This step is important because otherwise the cheese will stick to the pan. If you’re using shredded cheese, make small piles of cheese all over the parchment paper. A teaspoon size is all you really need. If you’re using slices of cheese, divide each slice into eighths and spread them across the paper. Bake them for about 6-8 minutes (or longer if you want extra crispy) at 350 degrees. Allow them to cool when finished baking. You can eat them on their own, or dip in salsa, sour cream, guacamole, etc. Another option is to bake in seasonings or spices with the cheese. There are a lots of options here. However you do it, it will be delicious!
