Must Watch Video: The Cholesterol Campaign And Its Misleading Dietary Advice

Published on February 18, 2013,

This video is of a talk given last month by Danish doctor and researcher Uffe Ravnskov about the misinformation that has been spread for years by those who believe that saturated fat results in higher cholesterol, and higher cholesterol results in greater heart disease and mortality. The so called ‘evidence’ is reviewed and suggests the reality couldn’t be more different. Dr Ravnskov is not the most fluent English speaker but the information he presents is startling and worth 30 minutes of anyone’s time…

In a nutshell, Dr Ravnskov asks and tells us:

Is there evidence that too much saturated fat raises cholesterol? No

Is there evidence that saturated fat causes heart disease? No

Is there evidence of a correlation between cholesterol and heart disease? No

Is there any evidence that high cholesterol causes heart disease? No

Is there evidence that lowering cholesterol (e.g. through medication) reduces heart disease? No

Is there a correlation between obesity rates and the amount of fat consumption? No

Is there a correlation between obesity rates and the amount of protein consumption? No

Is there a correlation between obesity rates and the amount of carbohydrate consumption? Yes

Are the obesity and diabetes epidemics a direct result of the misleading cholesterol campaign? Yes

More information from Dr Ravnskov is on his website
